"You got to sing like you don't need the money,
Love like you'll never get hurt.
You got to dance like nobody's watchin' ,
It's gotta come from the heart if you want it to work".
~ William W. Purkey
The EPS team combines over 35 years of event production, marketing, media, and promotional experience to each project. The people behind EPS each bring a unique background and perspective to the production of an event, ranging from event production management, merchandising, art & design, media, web design, marketing, and promotions. With a common love for live music and a strong work ethic, the EPS team strives to produce fan-friendly events, enriching the communities hosting them. We work hard to ensure a rewarding experience for music fans, sponsors, vendors, partners, and bands alike.
With over 15 years working in the music business, Jeff brings a vast array of talents to the table. Jeff's varied roles have included merchandising sales for Widespread Panic, Member of the Board of Directors for the Old Settler’s Music Festival, as well as 10 years of event management experience. Jeff is also a highly sought after concert poster artist. His fanatical love for live music and his energetic work ethic are well known by anyone who has worked with him. His drive for a successful event is evident by the countless hours of thoughtful planning and insight that can only come from extensive experience in the field. Jeff's other projects have included Cryptical Development Graphic Art & Design (Owner & Artist), and the Austin City Limits Music Festival (Art & Food Manager).
A talented web designer & online promoter, Mike moved to Austin in 2003 to work in its bustling music scene. With 3 years of booking and event management under his belt in Arizona, he carved his Texas niche by creating an online web portal and discussion group Texas Heads. Shortly thereafter, he joined the non-profit music promotion group Austin Soundboard. With them, he helped create and execute several outdoor events in various locations around Austin. It was at one of these events where he met Jeff, and the seed was planted for future collaborations together.
Mike joined the EPS team in 2005, at the Austin City Limits Music Festival and Old Settler's Music Festival. It didn't take long for Mike and Jeff to realize the potential they had in working together on their own projects; in 2006, they co-created and produced ATX Fest along with co-producing other music festivals (including the 4th Annual Keep Austin Weird Music Festival and Cricket Fest).
Mike's goal is to continue utilizing his backgrounds in web design and event management to help expand EPS both locally and nationwide.
Matthew Waggoner has been a staple in the Austin events industry since 1993. Matthew first found his way in to the Austin Film Festival where he was a Theater Manager for six years. In 1999 he focused his efforts at Direct Events, working for five years at Direct Events as a Special Events Production Manager. In 2000 Matthew and two industry friends recognized a need for more professional, turnkey event staffing and they founded W3 Event Specialists, Inc. W3 has since turned in to central Texas premier event staffing company.
In 2004 and 2005 Matthew was privileged to work on the Austin Film Societies' Texas Film Hall of Fame Gala as the Production Manager, as well as working with Milam & Company in a variety of roles including Production Manager and Promoter Rep on several music series throughout Texas. In early '05 the big time called and Matthew quickly seized the opportunity to serve as Music Hall Operations Manager at the world renowned House of Blues, Las Vegas (Live Nation). House of Blues proved to be a tremendous learning opportunity and a great professional experience.
But, alas, the call of Texas was in the air and Matthew has returned to his roots and is proudly joining the team of Austin based Event Production Services.
